An Anonymous Observation Project

Research

We are researching how the smallest of nudges within everyday work decisions could create much needed sustainability changes to protect our natural world.

Observation

What wasteful practices do you see happening in your organisation? What power do you have to speak up? Have you attempted to instigate change? Have you succeeded in making a change?

Change

We want to hear your stories – no matter how mundane or how convoluted, how impossible or how obvious. Help us steer organisations towards a more sustainable future.

Recent Observations

“Started separating the packaging waste myself. Six months later the whole company does it without being asked. Cost the company nothing.”

“Pushed to cut interstate flights for meetings that could’ve been a call. Told it ‘shows commitment’ to fly. Still flying to Melbourne for forty-minute meetings. Stopped raising it”

“I flagged a supplier risk eighteen months ago Cheap cotton, bad water use, the kind of thing that ends up in the news eventually and takes the share price with it. Wrote it up properly. Sources, numbers, the lot. It’s still sitting in a shared drive nobody has opened since. I keep wondering who I was writing it for. Nobody has ever admitted reading it and nobody has ever needed to, because nothing has happened yet. That’s the part that gets me – nothing has happened yet.”

Why submit an observation?

What do you see? What change could be made in your organisation? Everyone everywhere sees things differently. Let’s work with a shared purpose to find our common ground, where we can all contribute ideas. Why submit? Because it will lead to greater understanding and greater understanding leads to change.
